Colors of Dream

In a day unlike others,
Two toddlers sat alone
Out of their parents’ sight.
They exchanged no words,
They just didn’t know how.
With their jolly impulses,
Expressions and gestures
They expressed their eagerness
To explore the world
In which they’d recently arrived.
In the midst of their childhood moment
And to their complete surprise,
A colorful ball fell from sky
The vivacious colors of the new toy
Painted wide smiles on their visage.
Violet splashed on black,
Yellow ran into white
Purple tickled green
Orange bumped into gray
Scarlet giggled with red
To make cobalt feel blue.
The shape of the leaping object
Thrilled the two young souls
The ball bounced a few times
Before their dazzled eyes
And came to stop in one’s lap
One child pushed it away
The next smacked it back
They threw it over their heads
Tapped on it like a drum
Kicked it with delight.
The ball rolled back and forth,
Leaped up and down
Excited the two every time.
They chuckled at its antics,
Clapped their hands
Stomped their feet.
Suddenly the world trembled,
The earth shook unlike
Any earthquake known before.
The frantic jolt inundated
Every human being alive.
The tremor caused concussion
Launched people to reverie
In a matter of minutes,
The entire population of earth
Swept off their feet
Thrown into the air.
The tremor shocked the life
Universal revolution came about
No one understood the upheaval
Yet no one seemed to care.
People floated in sky
As the filaments of dandelion do
When blown in the air
They soared in a magical realm,
A kingdom beyond dream
The bizarre incident plundered
Their possessions, ideas and beliefs
The mirage overwhelmed
Every single being.
The dreamers invaded heavens,
Indifferent to their destiny.
The planet was in bedlam,
Spun out of control,
Banal reality exploded
New dimensions were born.
Life morphed into a vision
Dull pigments of every day
Formed colors of fantasy.
Every line was crossed
All boundaries trespassed
Every norm violated
To pave the way of future
Never imagined before.
As the planet went through anarchy,
The grand conspirators
Behind the chaos were heard from afar
Clapping their hands
Pounding their feet in jubilee.
Their innocent laughter
Traveled across the universe
Heard by all dreamers alike.
